Cooling server and support rooms

Computer and network equipment is designed in such a way that it can only work at a limited range of temperature. In order to ensure proper performance and the maximum life of each piece, the temperature should not be lower or higher than a certain degree. Even a few degrees higher than the ideal range could damage a server chip. The equipment itself produces heat while working.

This can also damage a server’s lifetime or cause it to malfunction. The cost of a server’s failure would be enormous. Replacing it would mean a significant problem. Losing e-commerce investment and clients’ data, wasting clients’ time and other costs are also major problems. Therefore, there is a big need for cooling systems to keep the performance of the servers.

In order to stabilise and maintain cool temperatures in these rooms, PCMs are used inside the walls to keep them at a constant degree (usually between 10 and 15 Celsius degrees). The rack produces heat. The fans will convert the heat to the room’s colder temperature so there won’t be any damage to the server.
