One of the applications of PCMs is their usage in the technology applied in astronauts’ clothes and gloves in order to protect them when in severely cold temperatures. They work changing phase from liquid to solid. The stored heat is then transferred to the astronaut’s body and the body’s temperature will get stable and maintained at an ideal range.
